My 31 years in elected office have given me the expertise in the inner workings of government and more importantly taught me how to get things done. I was the only elected official and, am now the only candidate to serve in all three forms of our local government: the old City of Athens, Clarke County and our current ACC consolidated form of government.

As Tax Commissioner, I was director of one of the most important departments in the county and met and worked with the County Manager and other department directors on a bi-monthly basis. I know our county, the way government works and the county employees who work for us every day. I also know where our weaknesses are and where improvements can be made. I believe this institutional knowledge, plus my financial background is relevant and valuable especially in the current economic climate where every dollar matters. We deserve a Mayor with the proven experience and leadership necessary to get things done.

We need a Mayor who will make common sense decisions and will not shrink from championing the tough decisions that need to be made.
